For my personal project, I chose to use Fyre Werks white for the stars and a variegated turquoise silk I found at Osterville Needlepoint. The name of the brand and color escapes me, but I highly recommend scouring your local shop for fun silks, to stitch as painted or look in your stash for a fun, colorful twist:
