There She Goes: A Year In Quarantine

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

irish.jpeg

Welcome to another weekly edition of There She Goes! As always, I hope that this newsletter adds a sprinkle of lightness and a touch of inspiration to your week. ✨ Happy St. Patrick’s Day & “spring ahead,” following the clock change on Sunday. This week many reflect on the anniversary of when things started getting real with the pandemic’s strength and quarantine restrictions. What a year it’s been indeed!

Recently I’ve been stitching while listening to podcasts or webinars and it’s introduced extra calm into my days and nights 💖 Sending you all a little extra strength and good energy this week. Be sure to meet yourself where you are and bring in a little extra compassion. When in doubt, trust in your latest stitching project to offer respite and inspiration.

you have helped me
grow flowers out of mine so
bloom beautifully

bloom softly
however you need
just bloom” ― Rupi Kaur, Milk and Honey

Yellowstone (TV Series) My goodness, do I love this show! It's like Breaking Bad, Final Destination, and The Wild West had a baby. While I'm sure there is a universe of storytelling untold in regard to Native Americans in the West, I really appreciate the major themes that become evident through the show. Beth Dutton is my forever style muse and I will be wearing midi-dresses with boots and long cardigans from here on out. I will warn you that it is quite violent, which may be why it took me a few attempts to get into it. My partner and I watched the first three seasons in the last few weeks and season 4 could not come sooner!

Luminaries (Amazon Original Series) Based on the book, I was overjoyed to be pleasantly surprised by stumbling across this series in my browsing. I admit that although I bought the book when it came out, I did not finish it before packing it up in a box pre-move many moons ago. The cast is absolutely wonderful and I look forward to treating myself to the series when I have some undivided attention time in the future. I love to watch television while I work from home, but some things are better left to watch while not multitasking.

American Idol (TV Series) I know, I know. Like many of you, I stopped watching American Idol in like 2007. However, Sheila and I are extra excited as one of our stellar buddies from college got a Golden Ticket! Unfortunately, we all learned on Sunday that his audition did not air, however, we have a real treat for you! Here is a YouTube video of him singing Harry Styles' Watermelon Sugar. We are so proud of him for his journey from late night freshman dorm jam sesh at St. Lawrence to Hollywood by way of a post-college move to Nashville.
