There She Goes: Comfort & Joy

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

So happy to share another jam-packed newsletter of uplifting things to get you over the hump of the week and send you into the end of 2020 with a positive BANG!

I feel like the end of the year is wrapping up in the blink of an eye - anyone else feel this? This week I’ve been doing final preparations for the Sweet Spot Workshop I’m co-hosting and I must share that I'm psyched about what we have planned for our group. If you still want to grab a spot you can do so here. The perfect gift for yourself, a friend, or sister.

Otherwise, I’ve been enjoying chilly and sunny neighborhood walks in my area. I feel so grateful for the opportunity to get outside whenever I can. My partner and I will be staying put for the holidays and, though it’ll certainly be a new kind of experience, I know I am certainly not alone and I plan to find little ways to celebrate and connect with loved ones virtually.

Sending you all good energy, let’s jump into the newsletter!

Happy holidays!

Songs To Stitch To, Sing To, Get You Through The Week

I. As Old As I - Dispatch

II. The Other Side - Moonchild

III. Down ‘N Out - The Futurelics

Set Aside Some Time This Week For Some Self-Care

I. Check out the Sounds Good podcast with Branden Harvey - hopeful conversations with change-makers

II. Spend 20 minutes clearing clutter. Make it even more satisfying by snapping a photo of a messy area of your home, then devote the time to picking up. When the timer rings, do something fun!

III. Take lunch back! If you are living that WFH life you might be even more temped to eat at your desk or scarf food down in the kitchen instead of creating a slow eating ritual. If you can’t imagine sitting down to take a longer lunch, eat your lunch at your regular pace, then take a stroll!

Soulful Salutations

I. “When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” — Paulo Coelho

II. “Dare to dream big dreams. Believe that you can do great things. Keep going until you achieve. If you can imagine it, you can feel it, if you just believe it, you can do it. Dream bigger, believe with all your heart, face your fears, achieve your dreams.” — Aysel Guna

III. “We May Encounter Many Defeats But We Must Not Be Defeated.” — Maya Angelou

Uplifting Things Happening Around The World

Brooke’s Bookshelf

Go Find by Susan Purvis: The adventurous tale of how a newly divorced woman and her sweet pup, Tasha, find purpose in the powder as they work together to save lives in Colorado avalanches. I picked up this book while visiting Boulder last November and can't wait to dig in over the holidays!

Fierce Fairytales by Nikita Gill: A book by one of my favorite poets, illustrating feminist fairytales through gorgeously poignant prose and sketches. Nikita revisits well-known stories with captivating twists.

The Starlet & The Spy by Ji-Min Lee: In this 166 page novel, Korean author and screenwriter tells a luminous story about Marilyn Monroe visiting Korea in 1954 and the connections she makes along the way.
