There She Goes: Backgammon - always in style
Hello & Happy Thursday!
May this newsletter find you well and rounding out another good week. Here in Colorado we’ve seen both 60 degree weather and 6+ inches of snow. It certainly doesn’t help my already warped perception of where we are in time space 🤣
If you’ve had a tough couple of days or a tough week, it is my hope that the things below will leave you feeling a little lighter ✨ Let’s dive in!

One Night In Miami (film) a fictional tale set in Miami in the 60s featuring historical figures like Muhammad Aali, Jim Brown, Sam Cooke and Malcom X. Looking forward to watching this this weekend! Available on Amazon Prime.
To All The Boys: Always & Forever (film) I have no shame in loving the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy on Netflix! When I saw the first film a few years ago, I thought it was only going to be one cute one-and-done coming of age story. I didn’t realize it had been based off of a books series. The quarantine gods granted us with a third film last week! Looooove Lana Condor!
Four Hundred Souls: A Community History of African America 1619-2019 by Ibram X. Kendi and Keisha N. Blain (Book) Just picked up a copy of this book from my local independent bookshop. I love bookstores so dearly, particularly ones that fit in a room or two. Black History is so complex and deeply rooted in our own. It is not a single story. Many of the real stories have been rewritten or will never be heard. I am thankful for the tremendous collective emotional labor that went into this book by the individuals involved. 90 writers each take on about a 5 year history in their own way.
