There She Goes: Introducing “Pillow Talk”

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

on-the-mat.jpg

There has never been a better time to dedicate yourself to needlepoint & the crafts that make you happy.  In a new reality where “social distancing,” “quarantine,” and “isolation” regularly roll off the tongue, quality time doing things that bring you joy is vital!  I am sending each one of you love from Denver, Colorado and I’m doing my best to be available and generous during this time.

As you know, it’s my goal each week to bring you uplifting news, jams, self care ideas, inspiration, and Thorn Alexander updates.  This week I am overwhelmed with things that I want to share! So much so that Brooke and I are collaborating on a blog post that will deliver you with good-feels and feel-good activities.  Stay tuned!

If you would like to support our mission and don’t see a canvas you’re looking for stock, please consider a gift card for the future!  You can also make a pre-order that will arrive for you this summer ☀️

Set Aside Some Time This Week For Some Self-Care

I. Get outside and take a walk first thing in the morning.  The great outdoors is free and it promotes health and relaxation.

II. Cook family recipes! This is something that I love doing because it makes me feel more connected to my roots, and it makes the meal so much more special.  Don’t have family recipes? Try one that reminds you of your friends, or of a certain time in your life.

III. Unwind at the end of the night by sipping tea, burning a candle, and stitching your current canvas.  It’ll feel romantic as heck and send you into a good night's sleep.

Soulful Salutations

“Be kind. Life is a mirror.” — unknown

“It’s okay if progress looks different in this season.” — Morgan Harper Nichols

“Cultivating self-love and self-acceptance it not optional. They aren’t endeavors that I can look into if and when I have some spare time. They are priorities.” Brene Brown.

Uplifting Things Happening Around The World

Let me first say that (if you are on social media) I highly recommend following good news movement, upworthy, and tanks good news.  These accounts have brought laughter to the days of so many recently!

I. Four New York City 20-somethings started “Invisible Hands,” a website to service the elderly and other vulnerable people amid the coronavirus outbreak. They’ve gotten over 1,500 volunteers since yesterday!

II. Trader Joes is setting up a bonus pool for each store, to pay employees for their hard work in light of the recent spike of sales.

III. Brad Paisley opened a store in Nashville that offers free groceries to those in need.  Now that store is also delivering a week’s worth of groceries to the elderly, so they don’t even need to leave the house.

Have a great week!

Be well,
Sheila
