There She Goes: Let me (re)introduce myself

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Why hello there! It’s me again, here with weekly updates & bits of inspiration.

I realize that I’ve been writing a weekly newsletter for you all for about a year and a half now! I’ve shared stories about traveling through Western America, backpacking Europe, and returning home to the United States, to then move from New Hampshire to Colorado 😅. What an amazing opportunity it’s been to share travel experiences, musings on life, and to keep to up-to-date on the latest from Thorn Alexander.

That said, some of you are a little new here, so I thought I might re-introduce myself 👋. My name is Sheila and I am a writer, yoga teacher, and transformational life coach. As a coach, I work with driven, free-spirited women who are looking to make a change in their career and find a path of purpose, so they can wake up inspired and energized every day. Brooke (the founder of Thorn Alexander) and I met the first day at University (9 years ago!) and we are passionate about supporting one another on the path of entrepreneurship. I now reside in Denver, CO with my amazing partner, James, and (quickly growing!) puppy, Buckwheat.

The purpose of this newsletter (other than sharing Thorn Alexander updates) is to share with you uplifting things to read, listen to, and ponder. I do hope that it adds some sunshine to your day, and helps you make it through the week! I am so grateful for you all, for reading along and for holding space for me to share with you.

Without further ado — let’s jump into this week’s There She Goes…

Set Aside Some Time This Week For Some Self-Care

I. Read some soulful poetry. One of my favorite poetry books was actually gifted to me, from Brooke! It’s called Your Soul is a River, by Nikita Gill.

II. Catch up with an old friend. Who is that person you’ve been thinking about, wondering how they’ve been doing, but haven’t yet reached out to? Send them a note, give them a call, you know it will mean a lot 🥰.

III. Right now, in this moment, think of one thing you’ll do this weekend that will make your soul happy. Don’t reschedule or let other things get in your way — commit to it!

Soulful Salutations

I. “Judge nothing, you will be happy. Forgive everything, you will be happier. Love everything, you will be happiest.” — Sri Chinmoy

II. “Our task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”— Rumi

III. “There is no innovation and creativity without failure. Period.” — Brene Brown

Uplifting Things Happening Around The World

I. Tuscany has revived medieval wine windows to serve wine, coffee, gelato, and other treats, to continue serving consumers and keep businesses alive in a unique way!

II. Most of the ancient redwood trees at Big Basin Redwoods State Park have survived the wildfires.

III. Africa has been declared free from wild polio — Nigeria was the final African country to be declared free!

Have a great week!

Be well,
Sheila
