I wanted to start off by acknowledging those of you affected by the wildfires, including those that are supporting loved ones from afar. My heart goes out to you and I am sending tons of good energy and hope.

If you, like me, are feeling a little hopeless right now in understanding how you can help, consider making a contribution to the California Wildfire Relief Fund, which supports Latino-led organizations that provide critical assistance to Latino & immigrant families displaced by the wildfires.

We have an exciting announcement (title might have given it away!) and happy-soulful tidbits to share with you today. Enjoy!

What’s New

Thorn Alexander Update!

We officially have 95% compostable/recyclable packaging! We have eliminated all plastic bags for compostable clear bags and tissue paper. Our new clear bags can be composted in your backyard compost!

While plastic bags use less plastic, 95% of flexible packaging can’t be recycled since it is made from several layers of materials. Our new bags can be composted in 180 days under proper composting conditions. Instructions are printed with soy-based inks on each bag.

I. Next time you feel that you are comparing yourself to someone else (and it’s starting to give you icky negative energy) STOP what you’re doing and START making a list of at least 5 things that make you amazing. No excuses!

II. Do you have indoor plants? If you haven’t done this already, place a plant on your desk/workspace for the day. Every time I glance at my plant next to my computer it actually gives me new energy!

III. This week put on an outfit that makes you feel totally awesome. It does not matter if you’re leaving the house or staying put!

I. At 14, Anastasia Pagonis, became blind. Now she is training for the paralympic & spreading a positive message with her trusty, four-legged friend by her side!

II. Check out the story of this amazing 18 year old named Justin Gavin who chased down a burning car to save a mom and three kids from their vehicle!

III. California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed #AB2147, which will clear a path for inmate firefighters to be eligible for firefighting jobs upon release!
