There She Goes: Fires & Freezing. Just keep on stitchin’.

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

old-photo-mom-and-dad-car.JPG

Whelp… this has been a bonkers week in Colorado weather-wise. We had fires burning like crazy over the weekend, temps in the 90s, and then on Tuesday there was snow! My dog, Buckwheat, who was born in April and hasn’t experienced temperatures less than 65 degrees had a real shock and even sprinted around our home after coming in from the cold 😆. Nothing like a silly dog to lighten the mood when it feels like the world is upside down.

PS. This featured photo is of my father and late mother. They would have just celebrated their 34 year wedding anniversary and my aunt recently found this photo that none of us had seen. 🥰 September tends to be a big month of anniversaries and weddings — so happy day to anyone who is celebrating. If you are missing your loved one deeply during this time, I am sending extra good energy your way!

Set Aside Some Time This Week For Some Self-Care

I. Lose yourself totally and completely in a good book. I was in a bit of a funk the other day and reading allowed me to travel outside of my funk and I felt sooo much better after. 💙

II. Making a pillow / blanket fort is not just for kids. Gather a bunch of your coziest pillows and blankets and make a fort or simply sink into the pile… and into a little slice of heaven. (Can you tell that it’s less than 40 degrees in Denver and I’m already feeling the cozy vibes?!)

III. Watch a show that has a 100% chance of making you laugh. My go-to funny shows are Broad City, New Girl, and Friends.

Soulful Salutations

I. “Being human is not hard because you're doing it wrong, it's hard because you're doing it right. You will never change the fact that being human is hard, so you must change your idea that it was ever supposed to be easy.” ― Glennon Doyle, Untamed

Uplifting Things Happening Around The World

III. A must see if you want to smile/cry happy tears — A two year old boy with a cleft palate is the new pawrent of a puppy with the same birth condition.

I. This video of Cate Blanchett! She is my ultimate role model for her bookish vocabulary, utilization of her platform to discuss injustices, and chameleon-esque talent. Adding teaching Cate how to needlepoint to the bucket list!
