There She Goes: Leaf Peeping Is Good For The Soul
Hello & Happy Wednesday!
This week I am feeling inspired by a good friend of mine who has recently gotten into needlepoint. After finishing her first canvas earlier this week, she is flying on to the next! I just love hearing stories about how and why people start needlepointing, as well as what they discover about themselves through stitching. It’s so much more than a craft, it’s a shift in mindset! Also this week, my partner and I launched a recipe section on our site! I am so so excited to start sharing our passion for food and to see what our readers think.
My dear friend Brooke (also Victoria’s newest resident!) has traded in the 70+ hour work-weeks over the past 4 years, and instead is slowing it down to spend time outside with Mr. Oceans and to work on ideation and creation. She is cooking up some new things of her own… prepare yourselves for a new design to play with as early as this winter 👏
Songs To Stitch To, Sing To, Get You Through The Week
Set Aside Some Time This Week For Some Self-Care
I. Go to bed 30 minutes early! This is a small thing that, if done intentionally, can feel super luxurious. Already have an early bedtime? How about a little extra time winding down — light candles, pick up your book, and put on some lavender oil!
II. Write down 5 things you love about yourself 💕 This simple activity can start retraining those positive thinking neural pathways.
III. Wear your favorite outfit. It feels good to put on an outfit that feels totally you, whether that means getting done up with some slick heels or sliding on leggings and a colorful sweater. Put it together, put it on, and have a you day!
Soulful Salutation
“For what it’s worth:
It’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald
Uplifting Things Happening Around The World
I. Newlyweds ask for donations for their local humane society instead of gifts. This resulted in the donation of more than 1,200 cans of wet pet food, 750 pounds of dry pet food, and more than $2,000 for the shelter's medical fund!
II. A hiker, who had been missing for four days, was found… on her 75th birthday!
III. After learning about the school lunch debt in his community, a man in Florida took it upon himself to pay it off. Now there are others inspired to do the same!
