There She Goes: Spoooky Soul Stitchin’
Hello & Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween, Stitchers! For your “treat” I’m sharing these photos of Brooke and I when we were living out our best Halloween lives. I love reflecting on the years that I fully committed to my trick-or-treat costume. I think there were at least six years that I dressed up as different dogs. I hope you’re all finding a way to celebrate, even if that means simply jamming to Halloween-esque music like I am. This week I had a few friends over and we felt like we needed to do something “Halloween-y,” so I tried my hand at a mulled wine recipe 😛 To those of you that may have similar dietary restrictions, this one was low FODMAP and it was actually awesome!

Set Aside Some Time This Week For Some Self-Care
I. Try a new breathing exercise or meditation. I’ve been on a Yoga with Adriene kick lately and she has a few good meditations, of varying lengths.
II. Clean and organize your room. If that is too overwhelming, simply pick one part of it — a desk, bedside table, or closet — and tidy up.
III. Make it a priority to call or Facetime someone you miss and “have been meaning to talk to” for a while!
Soulful Salutation
“Vent about your joy. Not just your problems” — @womens.meditation.network
“It’s one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. To forgive. Forgive everybody.” — Maya Angelou
“When in doubt just remember; you are made of dust, and will return to dust, but also remember you are no ordinary dust. You are made from the ashes of stars. So shine, be a raging fire and do justice to the star you’re made of.” Elsa Siby Jose
Uplifting Things Happening Around The World
I. Doctors in Scotland are now authorized to prescribe “nature” as a supplemental treatment for conditions including depression and high blood pressure. This is believed to be the first time there has been such a program in the U.K. There are a whole slew of suggested outdoor activities that patients can choose to carry out, including bird watching and crafting a “bug hotel.”
II. John Cena is making a $500,000 donation to the California firefighters working to control the massive wildfires. He announced this on “National First Responders Day,” October 28th, which is a day that honors firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and others who are first on the scene of difficult situations.
III. Lyft’s new “job access program” will offer free rides the unemployed job hunters — to their job interviews, as well as free rides for their first few work weeks once they land a job. Very cool initiative! Read on for more.
Have a great week!
Be well,
Sheila
