All Stitched Up: Audrey Wu
This Japanese Fish canvas by Audrey Wu is such a sweet, swift stitch! I was able to use up threads from my stash and I really enjoyed basketweaving the 13 mesh canvas over the course of two evenings.
Last fall, Mr. Oceans and I rented from a Viatnamese family for several months before finding our current temporary flat in Chinatown. We have been here nearly a year and I truly treasure how much culture is in our neighborhood. Tied in with a stepmother from Shanghai, and both of my dads loving Japan, this little fish spoke to me greatly. I will certainly cherish it as a reminder of our time here in Canada’s oldest Chinatown and North America’s 2nd!
I was so sad to have spilled coffee all over a big pile of things that should not have coffee on them today. This canvas was one of them! Thankfully, I spilled pre-stitching and managed to mark the occasion with a fitting background color for the ornament.

I think a beautiful deep green would also be gorgeous!
